Over 300 years ago, Isaac Newton declared that “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”. Today adidas are using that same principle in the design of their latest Supernova Trail 5 shoe

supernova-trail-5.JPGThe shoe has been engineered and created specifically for the athlete who takes cross country running seriously. What’s more it won’t comprise with cushioning and comfort.

The Supernova Trail shoe is quicker and lighter than its predecessors, with an updated ForMotion unit and mid-foot torsion for full-speed running on uneven terrain. A full Ortholite sockliner adds unprecedented step-in foot and feel, while NoSeam construction prevents blistering – even at the most punishing speeds.

The shoe comes with ForMotion, to improve heel-to-toe transition, and integrated Torsion® and Traxion, to provide much needed stability as well as superior grip and traction.

ForMotion is a freely moving heel system that adapts to both horizontal and vertical impact forces. The de-coupled sliding plates work with the foam cushioning of the shoe, providing shock absorption and motion control in three dimensions: backward, forward and side-to-side.

The ground-adapting ForMotion technology reduces the rate of pronation by an average of fifteen percent and the critical forces on the knees by an average of thirty percent. Thus, the runner experiences a much smoother and balanced ride that significantly reduces the chances of overuse injury.
